The Mobile Legal Help Center (MLHC) was created through a partnership between the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG) and the New York State Courts Access to Justice Program, with initial funding from the David Berg Foundation.
Staff aboard the Mobile Legal Help Center will provide FREE legal assistance on civil issues related to: Housing (tenant only), Foreclosure, Public Benefits, Disability Benefits, Healthcare Benefits, Identity Theft, Debt Management, Consumer Credit, Immigration, Domestic Violence, Divorce, Custody, Employment, Superstorm Sandy, and Advance Planning.
The MLHC is in a different community every day. Check the top calendar below for the time, address and location of our site visits (you need to click on the date for the information to appear). If the top calendar states that appointments can be made online, please scroll down to the second calendar where it says "pick an appointment" and click on the date you would like to schedule an appointment. After you choose a date you will be shown the available times for that day and can confirm your appointment. Please make sure to make an appointment on a date with a scheduled site visit as seen on the top calendar -- if there is a date on the top calendar without a site visit listed, that means the MLHC is not going out on that date and you should not make an appointment for that date. If, when you scroll down to "pick an appointment", the date you want is not in bold and no appointment slots appear (but the top calendar states that there is online scheduling for that date), there are no more MLHC appointments available for that date.
